Actively Looking
What I'm Looking For
Profitable, established UK businesses that are ready for new ownership
The Basics
These are non-negotiable minimums—if you don't hit these, it's not a fit
Minimum £1M annual turnover
Consistent revenue, not one-off projects
Minimum £250k annual EBITDA
Real profit, not just breaking even
Trading profitably for 2+ years
Proven track record, not a flash in the pan
UK-based company
Incorporated in the UK with UK operations
What Makes a Good Fit
You don't need all of these, but the more boxes you tick, the better
Recurring revenue or repeat customers
Diversified customer base (no single customer over 25%)
Decent profit margins (15%+ EBITDA)
Clean financials and proper bookkeeping
Some team in place (not a one-person show)
Documented processes (even basic ones)
Real market demand (not a fad)
Owner willing to transition or stay briefly
What I'm Not Looking For
To save us both time, these are definite no-gos
Startups or pre-revenue businesses
Currently loss-making or heavily declining
Below £1M turnover or £250k EBITDA
One customer = majority of your revenue
Franchises or businesses with restrictive agreements
Heavy manufacturing requiring major capex
Businesses entirely dependent on founder with no transition plan
Highly regulated industries (FCA, CQC, etc.)
What About Industry?
Honestly, I'm not hung up on specific sectors. I've got experience in creative services (video production), but I'm genuinely open to anything—manufacturing, e-commerce, professional services, healthcare, tech, you name it.
What matters is the fundamentals: profitable, established, decent margins, real customers. If you've got those, the industry doesn't matter much to me.
